reCapture began out of the necessity to reStore our own home videos - year's worth of tapes just gathering dust, losing their luster. Stemming from our film and video production backgrounds - filmmakers, visual effects designers, motion graphics and 3D animators - we were disappointed by the common methods of video capture. The captured footage was always low-resolution with many color artifacts and distortion. This was unacceptable.

 

We had become so accustomed to our HD and 4K productions, old analog VHS with its 640x480 pixels and NTSC encoding nearly drove us mad...well, we exaggerate - but it was certainly annoying. Really annoying. So we gathered new technologies and software to reStore our beloved home videos. The results were so startling that friends and family began to ask us to reScue their deteriorating videos.​
